## Description

Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG) is a renowned not-for-profit organization established in 1967. Representing approximately 170 members, OGVG is dedicated to the cultivation of greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers across over 3800 acres in Ontario, Canada. With growers spanning from Windsor to Niagara and as far north as Ottawa, OGVG ensures the production of high-quality greenhouse vegetables throughout the region. As a member-based organization, OGVG operates under the Farm Products Marketing Act (FPMA) and is responsible for licensing growers, packers, and marketers of greenhouse tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers in Ontario. The organization emphasizes various areas, including research, food safety, energy, environment, market performance, and marketing. With the aid of a Board of Directors and committees, OGVG ensures the industry's standards and facilitates decision-making processes. OGVG plays a vital role in promoting and establishing connections between growers, government agencies, consumers, retailers, and foodservice operators through advocacy, research, marketing initiatives, trade shows, community involvement, and government lobbying events. With a commitment to sustainability, OGVG aims to support the sector and its growers, providing fresh, nutritious, and quality produce for all.
