## Description

Welcome to the Ohio Communication Association (OCA), one of the oldest state associations in the US. Our mission is to promote excellence in communication scholarship and practice within Ohio and beyond. We aim to provide our members with platforms to strengthen their teaching, research, and service skills. Whether it's through our annual conference, our award-winning journal, or our website and social media presence, there are numerous opportunities to engage in this vibrant organization. As the president of OCA, I emphasize the importance of unity in emphasizing good communication skills and practices in classrooms, organizations, and communities. We invite you to join the conversation and navigate these challenging times with us. Explore our website to learn more about our membership, events, and publications. In addition, as advocates for academic freedom, we strongly oppose harmful Senate Bill 83 and House Bill 151, as they limit intellectual diversity and freedom of speech in academic settings, restrict instruction on diversity, equity, and inclusion, and undermine labor rights among faculty and staff. Partner with us and become part of a community dedicated to advancing the communication discipline.
