## Description

The Ohio SPCA is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization serving communities across Ohio. Founded in 1983, it works to rescue, rehome, and rehabilitate animals, and advocates for reforms that reduce cruelty and improve their care. The organization operates two locations: an animal shelter in Lima, which can house up to 300 cats and 80 dogs, and a farm sanctuary near Grove City, providing permanent care for more than 50 rescued farm animals.

Its programs include animal cruelty investigations and rescue, an emergency response team, animal rehabilitation and adoption, humane education, equine rescue, and county shelter reform. The Ohio SPCA also supports rescue partners and offers resources such as low-cost spay and neuter services, wildlife information, and guidance on Ohio animal laws. People can help by donating, sponsoring a farm animal, volunteering, fostering, adopting, or becoming a response partner. Donations support ongoing operations, including hay for sanctuary animals and emergency medical care. The organization notes that it is independent of the ASPCA and relies on community support to pursue its mission.
