About

Description

OLA of Eastern Long Island, Inc. (Organización Latino Americana) is a nonprofit advocacy organization that focuses on creating a more equitable East End for Latino immigrants. Founded in 2002, OLA works in the five East End towns of East Hampton, Southampton, Riverhead, Southold, and Shelter Island.

OLA's mission is to advocate for just and inclusive government and school policies, protect families, nurture power and unity among Latinos through leadership workshops, and build bridges within the community through arts and culture celebrations. Through their advocacy efforts, OLA fights for legislation that benefits immigrants and connects individuals with trusted attorneys. They also provide educational programs, health and wellness initiatives, crisis response services, and arts workshops.

Furthermore, OLA aims to ensure fair treatment and respect for Latino community members by local institutions. OLA's impact is evident in their accomplishments, which include vaccinating over 6,200 people against COVID-19, providing over 800 rides to medical appointments, and distributing over $1. 1 million in crisis aid and rental assistance.

To support their mission, OLA welcomes partnerships, sponsorships, donations, and volunteers. By collaborating with various organizations and institutions, OLA aims to create a more equitable, strong, and healthy East End
