Olas del Pacífico is a brand that emerged as an extension of the Olas Chile project, which is a wave climate database developed by Baird & Associates S.A. It has become the institutional standard in Chile for defining wave climates. To ensure the long-term reliability of this wave climate for the entire Pacific Ocean, detailed validations have been carried out using wave measurements from Canada to Chile. This database is particularly relevant for maritime and coastal engineering projects along the coasts of North, Central, and South America, which are exposed to the waves of the Pacific. This deep-water wave database is the result of global spectral wave modeling work carried out in collaboration with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Experimental Station for Navigable Waterways, and the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy (SHOA).
