## Description

Old Water Dragons is a dragon boat club based in Oudewater, the Netherlands, founded in 2016. With around 60 members, the association brings people together through an energetic water sport built on teamwork, fitness and fun. Crews paddle long, narrow boats decorated with a dragon’s head and tail, working together alongside a drummer at the front and a steersperson at the back. The club trains three times a week and takes part in competitive races and recreational events throughout the year.

Newcomers can try the sport by joining four free, no-obligation paddling sessions before deciding whether to become a member. Old Water Dragons also organizes local dragon boat activities for businesses, families, clubs and neighbourhood groups, offering an active team-building experience on the water. The association welcomes people of different ages and backgrounds and invites supporters to contribute as sponsors or members of De Beste Stuurlui, its donor community. Donors receive a yearly dragon boat clinic invitation, a social gathering and regular newsletters.
