## Description

The Oliva Moros i Cristians Federation represents a vibrant and historic celebration that takes place in the charming coastal city of Oliva, home to approximately 25,789 residents. This festive event, first celebrated in 1921, pays homage to the Santíssim Crist de Sant Roc and showcases a rich cultural heritage that dates back to the Muslim period of Iberia. The festivities honor the historic reconquest of the area by Christian forces in 1239, blending historical pageantry with modern-day celebrations. The Federation organizes various activities including parades, music, and traditional performances, ensuring a dynamic experience for locals and visitors alike. In 2026, the festival will spotlight key figures such as captains and ambassadors from various Filades, or themed groups, that participate in the revelry. With a commitment to preserving traditions and providing an enjoyable atmosphere, the Oliva Moros i Cristians Federation invites everyone to join in celebrating this storied event that unites the community in a unique and entertaining way.
