## Description

OMA (Orthologous MAtrix) is a pioneering method and comprehensive database designed for the inference of orthologous relationships among complete genomes. Established in 2004, the OMA project has continuously evolved to provide high-quality orthology predictions, accommodating a broad scope of genomic data. The platform offers a user-friendly web interface, enabling researchers to access browsable orthology predictions alongside a range of tools tailored for functional annotation, synteny analysis, and evolutionary studies.

Users can leverage OMA's API and download options, including flat file formats and standalone versions of its inference algorithm. With no limits on query tokens, the OMA Browser allows for detailed searches across various categories, including genes, hierarchical orthologous groups (HOGs), and taxa.

Funding from the SIB has supported OMA's extensive updates, ensuring the database is consistently refined, and facilitates the combination of precomputed and custom genomic data.
