## Description

De Danske Omsorgsklovne is a Danish nonprofit organisation dedicated to expanding the use of professional care clowns throughout the care and support sector. It is described as Denmark’s only clown NGO focused on adults. Its clowns primarily visit nursing homes and residential care settings, engaging with people in vulnerable situations. Alongside their skills in connecting with individuals, the clowns have knowledge of dementia, developmental disabilities, autism and psychiatric challenges.

The organisation’s work is guided by respect, dignity, curiosity and presence. Its activities support older people and people living with dementia in nursing homes, as well as residents of supported housing, including older adults with developmental disabilities and children and young people in specialist institutions. The website also presents projects focused on culture, community and positive interaction, and gives institutions the opportunity to request a visit. Supporters can contribute through annual memberships and donations, while individuals and institutions can subscribe to newsletters.
