## Description

One Shot at History is a history podcast and growing historical archive created by Carl Reinemann, a local historian, writer, and public speaker based in Horicon, Wisconsin. Built on years of original research, the project brings overlooked stories to a wider audience, with a focus on Horicon, Dodge County, Wisconsin, and communities across America. Episodes explore forgotten local and regional history, unsolved crimes, historical mysteries, Indigenous oral traditions, Cold War secrets, and the everyday people and events that shaped small communities. The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, YouTube, iHeart, Pandora, and other listening platforms, and all episodes are free. Beyond the podcast, One Shot at History publishes historical articles drawing on newspapers, court records, and archival collections. Its online resources include databases, maps, a Civil War soldiers database, information on local pioneers, and research into topics such as Horicon Marsh and the region’s past. The project also features presentations, events, and opportunities to support its independently funded research through donations.
