About ONG FAD Niger
Description
Femmes, Actions et Développement (FAD) is a non-governmental organization (ONG) based in Niger, established in 2010. FAD is an initiative driven by passionate women who have come together to utilize their knowledge and experiences to actively advocate for the rights, protection, and empowerment of women and girls. FAD is committed to implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
Despite the challenges posed by the underrepresentation of women in decision-making bodies and the resistance faced from men and political parties, FAD is dedicated to advancing women in social, cultural, economic, and political sectors. FAD's main objectives are to combat all forms of discrimination and violence against women, enhance women's participation in decision-making processes, strengthen the economic power of women and girls, engage women and youth in peaceful conflict resolution, improve the health conditions of women and children, and promote education for girls. FAD envisions itself as a nationally and internationally recognized organization championing women's and girls' rights by 2025.
Their mission is to educate, support, and empower women and girls in Niger to actively contribute to sustainable development. Ultimately, FAD's goal is to ensure that women and girls fully enjoy their rights and become agents of lasting social progress
