## Description

Onno Heesbeen is a designer, photographer, industrial historian, and maritime researcher whose work brings together ships, visual storytelling, and scale modeling. His long-standing interest in passenger ships has led him to document their designs and histories and build a collection of detailed reference materials. This research supports both his illustrations and his model-making, connecting historical study with creative practice.

Heesbeen’s photography explores abstract shapes and the interplay of forms and light. His archive features architecture, industrial subjects, and passenger ships, reflecting more than 20 years of encounters with ships through the camera. In modeling, he focuses particularly on classic passenger vessels, creating scale models in 1:200 and 1:400 formats. He describes this work as an artistic expression grounded in maritime research.

The site presents these areas of practice and invites visitors to get in touch for more information. It also mentions a book related to his maritime research, though further details are not provided. Together, Heesbeen’s research, photography, illustration, and modeling offer a distinctive perspective on maritime history and design.
