## Description

FilmWight is a dynamic brand that aims to promote the Isle of Wight as a prime location for film and television production. As part of the Venture South organization, FilmWight serves as a central point of contact for the creative industry on the island. Launched in 2021, it has already started to stimulate economic growth and job opportunities in the local creative sector.

The Isle of Wight boasts a thriving creative community, with editors and producers choosing to work here rather than traveling abroad. FilmWight recognized the need for a dedicated Film Office to provide expertise, contacts, and support to filmmakers and production teams. Through extensive research and consultation with industry organizations like Filming in England and Creative England, FilmWight established itself as a non-profit entity, approved by the council, and dedicated to the betterment of the island.

FilmWight has built a comprehensive database of talented individuals, locations, and services, ensuring a smooth and efficient filmmaking process. By addressing challenges such as transportation costs and the absence of film studios, FilmWight is working tirelessly to attract more filmmakers to the stunning Isle of Wight. With FilmWight's support and resources, the island is poised to become a thriving hub for film and television production.
