## Description

Onyx is a free, unofficial, non-commercial reference and character-building tool for Dungeons & Dragons 5e and 5.5e, covering both the 2014 and 2024 rules. Available in English and Ukrainian, it helps players find information quickly during preparation or play, with no account required to browse or build a character.

The compendium brings together spells, classes and subclasses, races, backgrounds, equipment, monsters, rules, feats, skills, and community collections. Users can look up spell details such as casting time, range, components, and effects, or check combat actions, conditions, item properties, and creature statistics. The site also includes character tools for selecting options and tracking features, abilities, inventory, and other sheet details. Bookmarks and character sheets are saved in the browser and work offline; signing in is optional for syncing them across devices.

Onyx offers player guides, a rules reference, and a Discord community for questions, group-finding, feedback, and project updates. The project is free to use and accepts optional support through Patreon.
