OPAL is a UK-wide citizen science initiative that ran from 2007-2019, offering the public a hands-on experience with nature. They conducted surveys such as the Water Survey, Air Survey, Biodiversity Survey, Bugs Count Survey, Tree Health Survey, Soil and Earthworm Survey, and Polli:Nation Survey. OPAL's objective was to engage people in scientific research and foster a deeper connection with the natural world.
