## Description

Centro de Solidariedade Social “O Pátio” is a private social solidarity institution based in Coimbra, Portugal. Established in 1997 and operating since 1999, it provides early childhood education and care at two locations in the city. Its services include a crèche for up to 55 children, with cooperation funding for 41 places, and a preschool for up to 75 children, supported through an agreement with the Regional Education Directorate of the Centre and the Institute of Social Security. The institution is generally open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with flexible early drop-off and later collection available for families who need it. O Pátio follows the Modern School Movement pedagogical model, which encourages children’s participation in planning, collaborative learning, project work and evaluation. Its approach emphasizes democratic participation, mutual support, responsibility and solidarity. The organization also provides families with enrollment information, regulations for its crèche and preschool, and institutional reports and financial documents. Its facilities are located at Pátio da Inquisição and Travessa de Montarroio in Coimbra.
