## Description

Open Asu is a WhatsApp community in Asunción, Paraguay, helping locals and newcomers meet people through weekly in-person plans and shared experiences. Its welcoming approach makes it easy to join on your own, whether you are new to the city or simply looking for more company. Activities range from group meals and Korean ramen nights to tereré gatherings, live music, dancing, workshops, exhibitions, sports and walks. Members can also suggest their own ideas, keeping the programme open to different interests and levels of planning.

Alongside meetups, Open Asu helps people discover the city through its What's On listings, which organize concerts, talks, markets and social events by day, and its Explore Asu field notes on food, bars, museums, neighborhoods and trips. Practical guides cover everyday topics such as bus cards, SIM cards, rent, residency, pharmacies and power cuts. The community also offers #AsuBingo, a locally themed game that invites members to mark off familiar Asunción experiences and celebrate a completed card together.
