It serves as a festival of freedom, supporting creativity and the open exchange of information. Every year, OpenFest gathers enthusiasts, creators, supporters, and new fans of free arts and software. The main goal of OpenFest is to promote projects developed using open-source software and to provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and best practices in the field. The festival also provides a platform for showcasing free art. OpenFest's motto is "Let's share freedom!" Since its first edition in 2003 in Sofia, the festival has been held annually.
