## Description

Open Gate Farmstay is a disability respite service in the Yarra Valley, offering adults with additional and complex needs a supported short stay in a peaceful, 50-acre farm setting. Based in Victoria, the farmstay welcomes guests for weekend visits from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, with support arranged for low-care needs at a 1:4 ratio or medium-care needs at a 1:2 ratio. Each experience is tailored to guests’ interests, choices and person-centred goals, with an emphasis on building skills, communication and social connections while enjoying the outdoors. Accommodation is in a farmhouse, with two shared rooms, each furnished with two single beds and two king single beds. Activities include animal experiences with horses, poultry and guinea pigs, crafts, basic woodworking, farm skills, cooking, games, karaoke and outdoor cinema. The service is led by host Caz, who brings nursing and disability-support experience, and aims to provide compassionate, respectful care with 24/7 support.
