# Open Home Foundation - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `openhomefoundation.org` ## Description The Open Home Foundation is an organisation dedicated to advancing privacy, choice, and sustainability in smart homes. It works to ensure these principles benefit everyone who lives in one by supporting open-source projects and open connectivity and communication standards. The foundation owns and governs more than 250 projects, standards, drivers, and libraries, including Home Assistant, ESPHome, Music Assistant, HACS, Piper, Zigpy, Matter.js, and Z-Wave JS. Its approach emphasizes keeping smart-home devices functional locally, making cloud services optional, and enabling people to control how their personal data is shared. It promotes interoperability through open standards and local APIs, helping users mix devices from different manufacturers without vendor lock-in. To support sustainability, it advocates for durable, modifiable devices and tools that help track and reduce waste and emissions. The foundation also advocates for better practices across the smart-home industry and contributes to external projects aligned with its principles, including WLED and Zigbee2MQTT. ## Industries - 🖥 Computers Electronics and Technology - 🖥 Smart Homes and Home Automation _(under Computers Electronics and Technology)_ ## Links - [linkedin](https://linkedin.com/company/openhomefoundation) - [github](https://github.com/openhomefoundation) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG, SVG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idu4uFnDxS/w/820/h/185/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1791390239175) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Bright Turquoise | #18bcf2 | accent | | Tiber | #09293b | dark | | Seagull | #82cbe5 | light | ## Fonts - Biotif — asset _(custom)_ - Biotif — asset _(custom)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
