## Description

The OpenInfra Foundation is a leading open-source organization dedicated to fostering a global community of over 110,000 individuals committed to advancing open infrastructure software. Established to govern the OpenStack project in 2012, the Foundation has evolved to meet the diverse technological needs of cloud infrastructure, which now includes a blend of bare metal, virtual machines, and containers.

The Foundation hosts various open-source projects that contribute to key areas like AI/Machine Learning, Edge Computing, and Hybrid Clouds, with notable initiatives including OpenStack, Kata Containers, and Airship. They promote collaboration through events like OpenInfra Summit and OpenInfra Days, offering an inclusive platform for community members to engage, learn, and innovate.

With a strong emphasis on the "Four Opens"—Open Source, Open Development, Open Community, and Open Design—the OpenInfra Foundation ensures that technology is developed transparently and effectively. Membership is free for individuals eager to contribute, making it accessible to anyone interested in shaping the future of open infrastructure.
