## Description

OpenMath is a dynamic and extensible standard dedicated to representing the semantics of mathematical objects, facilitating their exchange between computer programs and storage in databases. Founded by developers of computer algebra systems, OpenMath has garnered attention from the scientific computation community and electronic document publishers with substantial mathematical content. It works in harmony with MathML, another standard, focusing on mathematical presentation. While MathML excels at displaying mathematical expressions, OpenMath emphasizes semantic meaning, allowing for a seamless integration of both technologies.

OpenMath enables users to create interactive documents, validate mathematical assertions, and share mathematical content across various software systems effortlessly. The initiative is supported by the OpenMath Society, headquartered in Helsinki, Finland, which serves as a hub for collaboration among tool builders, software developers, publishers, and authors. Through regular workshops and vibrant discussion lists, OpenMath promotes innovation and development in mathematical representation, making it an invaluable resource for anyone engaged in the field of mathematics on computers.
