## Description

Parrot is a free, open-source AI meeting recorder and live copilot for Mac. It helps users prepare for conversations, get support during calls, and review meetings afterward. When a call begins, Parrot can ask whether to record, capture audio already playing through the Mac, and provide suggested answers grounded in the user’s documents. It also transcribes calls, distinguishes speakers, and creates follow-up reports tailored to the type of conversation, such as sales discovery, interviews, coaching, or investor updates.

Users can add PDF, text, and Markdown files to an on-device knowledge base, set coaching instructions, and create custom profiles. Parrot works with meeting platforms and other audio sources, including Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, and speakerphone calls. Its AI options include on-device models and services such as Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini, with settings that explain what information is sent. Audio and documents stay on the Mac; cloud transcription or AI processing is optional. Parrot requires macOS 14 or later on Apple Silicon and is available to download or build from source.
