## Description

Since 2010, openPetition has been supporting people in their mission to effect change. With over 13 million users, their goal is to expand digital participation opportunities and make democracy more accessible to all. As an organization, openPetition is committed to neutrality, transparency, and effectiveness. They finance their operations solely through small donations from their users, strictly rejecting any influence from companies or political organizations. They strive to make politics understandable and seek to strengthen petition rights and expand online participation. In addition to their petition platform, openPetition works on projects to modernize the democratic process, such as the openDemocracy tool for bringing online petitions to local communities and the Hausparlament format, which makes debates on current political issues more accessible. They are also developing opn.vote, a new project that aims to facilitate secure and transparent digital voting. They promote diversity and zero tolerance for racism, discrimination, or any form of prejudice. The team consists of passionate individuals from various backgrounds, all committed to promoting political engagement and working towards a more democratic society. Whether you're interested in starting a petition or supporting digital democracy, openPetition is the platform for you.
