## Description

Open Prehistory is a digital platform created by the Istituto Italiano di Preistoria e Protostoria to share resources and research relating to prehistory. Developed with support from Fondazione CR Firenze, the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research, and the Ministry of Culture through the PNRR-TOCC programme, it serves scholars, students, educators, and the wider public. Its central aim is to make knowledge and archival materials accessible for research, learning, and public engagement.

The platform offers scientific publications, including the Rivista di Scienze Preistoriche, monographs, conference proceedings, and the Notiziario di Preistoria e Protostoria, with many materials available open access. Visitors can explore digital archives, consult the IIPP photographic archive through thematic pathways, and access library resources, rare volumes, catalogues, and films produced by the institute. Open Prehistory also provides educational and outreach materials for schools and general audiences, which can be consulted and downloaded freely. Alongside these resources, the site shares news about exhibitions, events, projects, and scientific meetings.
