## Description

OpenSats is a 501(c)(3) public charity known as the Open Sats Initiative, Inc. It is dedicated to funding Bitcoin-related free and open-source projects, as well as supporting associated education and research initiatives. Their mission is to create a sustainable ecosystem that provides consistent funding for contributors to Bitcoin and FOSS (free and open-source) tools.

At OpenSats, donors can contribute to the general fund or recommend gifts to specific project areas. Grants are distributed quarterly by a transparent and accountable nine-person board. These grants are awarded to high-impact projects in the Bitcoin space, focusing on improving public access to Bitcoin infrastructure.

The board comprises individuals with deep-seated values who are committed to the survival and support of free and open-source technology like Bitcoin. OpenSats prioritizes a diverse range of contributors, including developers, designers, researchers, educators, and reviewers.

OpenSats is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, and all gifts and donations made through their platform are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
