Lanka Software Foundation (LSF) is a global Free and Open Source (FOSS) Research & Development hub dedicated to fostering innovation and empowering software engineers in Sri Lanka. Founded in 2003 by pioneers Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana and Mr. Jivaka Weeratunge, LSF has curated a diverse team of experts, including Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy and Prof. Kumar Wickramasinghe, to drive impactful projects. Renowned for its contributions to the Apache Software Foundation and the creation of the Sahana disaster management system, LSF has cemented Sri Lanka's reputation as a hub for open-source technology. Transitioning its focus towards deploying technology for governance under the "Code for Sri Lanka" initiative, LSF continues to make strides in enhancing citizen services.
