## Description

Orange Sun is a technology company developing private, locally run artificial intelligence and robotics for homes and businesses. Its core product, Pulp, is software designed to run on a user’s Mac or PC, keeping AI conversations and data on the device by default rather than sending them to cloud services. Users can optionally connect cloud models. Pulp also supports local AI agents for tasks such as managing email, messages, and calendars, along with tutoring, media generation, games, and other extensions. Pulp Free Chat is available to download now, while the full Pulp edition is described as forthcoming.

The company is also developing Daisy, a dedicated appliance intended to run Pulp, with early access available and configurations planned. Orange Sun’s longer-term ambition is to bring private AI into embodied home and business robotics. Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, the company is led by co-founders Paul Perrone, Nolan Bushnell, and John Mottola, whose backgrounds span robotics, autonomous vehicles, gaming, operations, law, and finance. Orange Sun emphasizes user-friendly technology, privacy, and practical automation.
