## Description

Oregon Cowboy Dressage Alliance (ORCDA) is a community of horsewomen dedicated to keeping Cowboy Dressage alive and flourishing in the Northwest. The organization promotes a Western riding approach that uses Old World techniques to develop better communication and partnership between horse and rider. Its guiding principle is Soft Feel, a sensitive, two-way communication built on awareness, timing, preparation, relaxation and the appropriate release of pressure. In Cowboy Dressage, horse-and-rider partnerships are valued for lightness, harmony, finesse and connection, alongside balance, cadence, carriage, control and performance.

ORCDA brings enthusiasts together through Cowboy Dressage gatherings, shows and clinics, and shares information about rules, tests and upcoming events. Its annual gathering offers opportunities to participate and recognize award recipients, with support from sponsors and community volunteers. The alliance welcomes people with a variety of interests and skills to help sustain its work, and invites feedback to improve future events. Those interested in activities, volunteering or sponsorship can contact the organization by email or visit its Facebook events page for updates on shows and clinics.
