## Description

Orchestra of the City is a London-based non-professional orchestra and registered charity, recognised for its high-standard performances and welcoming, sociable atmosphere. Its musicians are keen amateurs who pursue a variety of careers, and the orchestra aims to break down barriers between performers and audiences. It presents concerts at prestigious venues and works with soloists ranging from emerging young musicians to established performers.

The orchestra’s programme includes a forthcoming concert on Saturday 21 November 2026 at Smith Square Hall, conducted by Dominic Brennan. The event features works by William Walton, including Orb and Sceptre March, A Litany, Coronation Te Deum and Belshazzar’s Feast, with the Cantus Ensemble, Hampstead Chamber Choir and Covent Garden Chorus, and baritone soloist Jerome Knox.

Orchestra of the City welcomes keen amateur string players to join its membership. The organisation also offers ways to support its work, including becoming a friend, joining its mailing list and attending concerts.
