## Description

Orchidee Aprosio is a family-run orchid business based in Sanremo, Italy, with roots dating back to 1901. Now spanning four generations, the company combines more than a century of experience with specialist knowledge of Paphiopedilum, an uncommon orchid prized for its distinctive slipper-shaped bloom. Its Sanremo site covers about one hectare, where the mild climate and good light support production. The business also has laboratories for seed sowing and in-vitro cultivation, using hybridisation to develop new varieties.

Aprosio’s assortment includes a range of cut Paphiopedilum, from named varieties such as Festival, Sanremo, Insigne and Van Gogh to hybrids. Flowers are selected individually for stem length and bloom size, then arranged in bunches of ten and wrapped in clear cellophane. On request, they can be packed in boxes with a small water-filled tube on each stem to help them withstand long transport. The company sells to national and international markets. Its website also shares flower-care guidance and information about the varieties, cultivation and history of Paphiopedilum.
