## Description

The National Order of Physicians of Côte d’Ivoire (ONMCI) is a professional institution established by law in 1960 and governed by legislation updated in 2021. As a private-law body entrusted with a public-service mission, it regulates the ethical conduct of the medical profession and works to protect patients and the physician-patient relationship. Its national council coordinates the institution’s activities, represents it to public authorities, and upholds professional ethics, while regional councils serve physicians across the country.

ONMCI supports doctors with ethical guidance, legal advice, help with setting up practice, administrative procedures, and assistance when they face difficulties. It also oversees registration in the professional register, membership contributions, and disciplinary processes. The organization’s website provides information for physicians, patients, students, and interns, including guidance on professional requirements, rights and responsibilities, medical replacements, and regional health services. Visitors can access a professional directory, official texts, a code of medical ethics, announcements, frequently asked questions, and media resources.
