## Description

The Oregon Thoracic Society (OTS) is a medical organization and the medical advisory section of the American Lung Association in Oregon. Supporting lung health in Oregon since 1962, it brings together medical professionals and allied health workers with an interest in respiratory, critical care, and sleep medicine. Its mission is to advance education and promote clinical, scientific, epidemiological, and social understanding of these fields, while encouraging better prevention, treatment, and control of respiratory diseases.

OTS supports lung health through professional education, public education, research encouragement, and cooperation with other medical societies and organizations. It also assists with program development and delivery, fundraising, and outreach for people affected by respiratory disease. Its main annual offering is the Chest Disease Conference, a four-day symposium held in February. The conference features speakers, question-and-answer sessions, and opportunities to connect with clinicians from Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, as well as industry representatives focused on patient care. OTS also shares news and updates about advocacy, education, and events through its newsletter.
