## Description

The Orillia Naturalists’ Club is a welcoming community for people of all ages who are interested in exploring, learning about, and protecting the natural world in and around Orillia, Ontario. Its activities bring together nature enthusiasts with interests ranging from birdwatching and wildflowers to hiking and conservation. The club offers educational programs, guided nature walks, outings, and special events that encourage members and visitors to appreciate the region’s wildlife and landscapes.

Programs feature topics such as Indigenous bird names and Anishinaabe ecological knowledge, while outings and community initiatives provide opportunities to experience nature firsthand. The club also promotes citizen science, including participation in the annual Christmas Bird Count, a volunteer-led effort to collect data that supports bird conservation. Events may be held in person or online, and people are welcome to attend; non-members may be asked to contribute toward program costs. Membership is available for $20 or $30. Through shared learning, outdoor experiences, and conservation-minded activities, the Orillia Naturalists’ Club inspires a deeper connection to local nature and a more sustainable future.
