## Description

Orticola di Lombardia is a historic non-profit association founded in 1854, dedicated to the promotion of public green spaces in Milan. Established formally in 1865, it has been instrumental in educating the public about plants, gardening, and environmental conservation. The association's initiatives benefit from proceeds from its signature event, the Mostra Orticola, which showcases a diverse array of flowers and plants.

With a commitment to enhancing the city’s greenery, Orticola collaborates with the Municipality of Milan to fund projects for public gardens, including notable areas such as the Giardini Montanelli and the Giardino di Palazzo Reale. In addition to public landscaping efforts, Orticola organizes various cultural events including lectures, guided tours, and workshops, designed to engage the community and foster a deeper appreciation for horticulture. Their ongoing projects like "FuoriOrticola" and special events celebrate Milan's rich botanical heritage, making Orticola a vital player in the city's green initiatives.
