## Description

The Osgoode Society for Canadian Legal History, established in 1979, is dedicated to the exploration and preservation of Canada's legal heritage, intertwining diverse Indigenous and European legal traditions. The Society plays a pivotal role in disseminating knowledge through its extensive publication program, having released more than 125 books on Canadian legal history since 1981. Catering to both legal professionals and the general public, these publications cover a wide array of topics that illuminate Canada’s complex legal landscape.

In addition to publishing, the Osgoode Society is renowned for its Oral History Programme, the largest globally focused on legal history, which has documented over 715 oral histories from notable figures in the profession. This initiative serves to enrich the understanding of Canada’s legal evolution and its influential traditions. Membership with the Society not only supports these critical endeavors but also offers exclusive access to annual publications and events, fostering a community committed to celebrating and preserving Canadian legal history.
