Founded in the lineage of Master Kenyu Chinen, the school teaches Shorin-Ryu karate and Okinawan kobudo, emphasizing respect, discipline, tradition and steady personal progress. Its classes welcome children and adults, from beginners to experienced practitioners, and the first trial session is free and without obligation. Shorin-Ryu karate is practiced as an unarmed art, with training in kihon, kata and kumite. Adult classes take place on Tuesday and Thursday, with a children’s class on Wednesday. Kobudo, open to beginners throughout the year, explores traditional Okinawan weapons, including the bō, sai, tonfa and nunchaku, in a Thursday evening class. The dojo also provides information on training programmes and progression through colored belts and dan grades. Qualified instructors lead the classes, sharing their experience in karate and kobudo.
