## Description

The Ornithological Society of the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia (OSME) is a society focused on birds and conservation across its namesake region. It connects people interested in regional ornithology through news, research, publications, events and opportunities to contribute. Its journal, Sandgrouse, features scientific papers and short notes, conservation and bird news, and a comprehensive round-up of sightings from the Middle East, the Caucasus and Central Asia. Readers can explore past issues and search articles by species or country.

OSME also provides regional resources, including its OSME Region List, country profiles, maps and information on the ornithological basis for its coverage. The society supports conservation and learning through grants, a conservation fund, the Trevor Poyser Fund, a Youth Development Fund and travel bursaries. Its website shares project updates, guest blogs, volunteer opportunities and information about internships and flyway monitoring. Members and supporters can join or renew, donate, subscribe to Sandgrouse, submit articles and take part in the OSMEBirdNet email discussion group.
