## Description

Our Ohana Center is a family child care provider in Columbia, Maryland, specializing in care for infants, toddlers, and two-year-olds, as well as preschool enrollment. Founded by Alexis Adams, an early childhood educator and director with more than 10 years of experience, the center aims to help children and families thrive in a nurturing, values-rich environment.

Its small-group, home-like setting supports individualized care and secure relationships. A play-based curriculum encourages curiosity, confidence, independence, communication, emotional regulation, and cooperation through daily routines and intentional activities. Children take part in music, movement, stories, sensory play, outdoor time, and small-group learning. The center also teaches practical skills such as potty training, dressing, and tidying up.

Services include full-time, part-time, flexible, and drop-in care, subject to availability. Homemade breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served daily, and field trips extend learning beyond the center. Ohana partners with parents through developmental goal-setting, resources, and guidance. It accepts Maryland State Department of Education and employer subsidies, offers additional financial aid, and invites families to ask about scholarships.
