Outdoor Chattanooga is a unique division of the City of Chattanooga’s Parks and Outdoors Department. Established in 2004, our mission is to make outdoor recreation an attractive, healthy, and distinguishing lifestyle for Chattanooga’s residents and visitors. We aim to maintain and enhance the value of the region’s resources while helping to grow the region’s economy.

We are here to connect you with Chattanooga’s outdoor scene! With so much to see and do in the Scenic City, it can be overwhelming to find the right information on how to get outside and play. That's where we come in. Our website provides detailed information about the best places to run, climb, paddle, hike, bike, and more, all within an hour's drive of Chattanooga.

We offer a variety of outdoor activities that you can enjoy on your own or with local outfitters and guide services. Our programs and calendar of events are designed to introduce the public to a wide range of outdoor activities and improve outdoor skills. Visit our LEED Gold certified facility in Coolidge Park to pick up brochures and get expert advice on the amazing outdoor spaces, places, and activities that Chattanooga has to offer.

You can also rent a bike from the Bike Chattanooga station in front of our building for a car-free alternative to explore the city.
