## Description

Overbeek en de Jong is a Deventer-based practice and training provider supporting children and young people, with services for families, schools and education professionals. Its coaching and therapy are intended for children and adolescents experiencing difficulties or feeling unhappy. The process begins with an intake to understand the child and family’s needs, clarify concerns and agree on personal goals. Sessions focus on the child’s strengths, self-awareness and age-appropriate skills, helping them approach challenges with greater confidence.

The organisation offers individual and group training, delivered in its practices and within schools. Topics include social skills, resilience, self-confidence and self-image, exam anxiety, fear of failure, mindset, learning strategies, assertiveness and preparation for the transition to secondary school. Its school-focused services support coordination between teachers and student-support teams, while professional development includes training for coaches. Programmes are adapted to participants’ needs, challenges and learning questions. Overbeek en de Jong describes its approach as child-centred, recognising each young person’s abilities, talents and potential for growth.
