## Description

OZ Brod is a Slovak civic association based in Medzany, in the Prešov district, dedicated to animal rescue and welfare. Guided by the belief that animals’ distress deserves to be heard, the organization works to protect animals, support their recovery and help them find safe homes. Its activities include rescuing animals, arranging veterinary care, providing temporary foster care and pet-sitting, and finding permanent homes for animals in need. OZ Brod also helps the public respond to cases involving lost, found or abused animals, and works with public authorities, shelters, quarantine facilities, other associations and volunteers in Slovakia and abroad. In home settings, the team supports animals’ adaptation, socialization and education. The association promotes awareness of animal and nature protection through educational activities for children, young people and the wider public, encouraging greater responsibility and compassion. Its work is supported by volunteers and shared with a broad community through social media. OZ Brod has received support from the ACF-Slovakia programme and the SPP Foundation.
