OzCHI is an annual conference that serves as a leading hub for the latest research and practice in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). It is organized by the Computer-Human Interaction Special Interest Group (CHISIG) and is a non-profit event. This year, OzCHI is returning to Aotearoa - New Zealand after a long hiatus.

The theme for this edition is Design from a Distant World, acknowledging the physical distance between Australia and New Zealand and their unique strengths in Design and HCI. The conference attracts a diverse international community of participants, including researchers, industry practitioners, academics, and students. Professionals from various backgrounds, such as interaction designers, user experience (UX) practitioners, information architects, software engineers, and social scientists, come together to exchange knowledge and explore the latest trends in HCI.

OzCHI welcomes contributions on a wide range of topics related to how people and societies interact with novel technologies. These include Indigenous influences on technology, design for connection, equity and ethics in HCI, conceptual issues in HCI or design, empirical studies of human-technology interactions, social implications of novel systems, design for under-represented groups, and technical HCI.
