OzHarvest is Australia's leading food rescue organization, committed to fighting food waste and helping people in need. Founded in 2004 by Ronni Kahn AO, our core mission is to save surplus food from ending up in landfills and deliver it to charities that feed vulnerable individuals. We work with a network of over 3,000 food donors, including supermarkets, cafes, hotels, and restaurants, to collect good quality surplus food, which we then distribute free of charge to 1,900 charities across the country.
Since our humble beginnings with just one van in Sydney, we have grown to deliver 240 million meals to those in need. In addition to our food rescue efforts, we are also dedicated to halving food waste by 2030 and transforming lives through education.
