Pennsylvania Football News (PFN) is a brand that has been passionately covering high school football in Pennsylvania since 1997. Founded by Tom Elling and Rich Vetock, their mission was to create a newspaper that would provide comprehensive coverage of high school football across the entire state. Despite their limited experience in publishing, Tom and Rich persevered, learning as they went along. The newspaper was well-received by coaches and fans alike, becoming the first high school football newspaper in the Keystone State. Eventually, the newspaper transitioned from a hard copy to internet publishing in 2013, allowing for wider accessibility and reach. After 17 years, Tom and Rich handed the reins to various individuals who shared their love for the sport, including Josh Funk and Chris Kucharski. However, it wasn't until Billy Splain took over in 2018 that PFN truly thrived. With years of experience running WesternPAFootball.net, Billy's passion for high school football was a perfect fit. He aims to continue growing PFN and building upon the foundation laid by the previous owners. With a strong presence on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube, PFN keeps fans updated on the latest news, team schedules, league standings, and more. As the go-to source for Pennsylvania high school football, PFN's future looks promising under Billy's dedicated leadership.
