## Description

Pais em Rede is a national Portuguese association supporting families of people with disabilities or other support needs. Founded in 2008 by parents, for parents, it brings families and professionals together to help ensure that no family faces these experiences alone. The organisation has more than 15 years of experience and has supported over 4,000 families through a decentralized network of 11 local nuclei across mainland Portugal and the islands. Its support is available to families facing any condition and includes access to local assistance and an SOS helpline.

Pais em Rede also develops programmes and projects to strengthen families and communities, and shares practical information through its online library. Its activities include training for parents and teachers on inclusion in schools. The association’s solidarity shop offers books from the Meninos Especiais collection, featuring real stories, as well as handmade cork crafts produced by its nuclei. People can support its work by becoming members, volunteering, or making donations.
