## Description

Paleofuture is a blog dedicated to exploring the history of the future: how people in earlier eras imagined the world to come. Through historical stories, it revisits predictions, inventions, and popular visions ranging from flying cars, jetpacks, and futuristic transport to utopias, dystopias, communications, money, and everyday technology. Its articles place these ideas in context, showing how expectations about the future reflected the concerns, ambitions, and assumptions of their time—and how some forecasts look amusing, surprising, or troubling in hindsight. Recent features have examined past predictions about aging and life in 2025, childhood visions of the year 2025, early newspaper coverage of Bitcoin, unusual inventions such as the Follyphone, and changing ideas about the internet. Written by Matt Novak, the site offers regularly updated editorial content, topic browsing, and a collection of images. Readers can also sign up for a free newsletter to receive updates. Paleofuture is an engaging resource for anyone interested in history, technology, popular culture, and the changing ways people imagine tomorrow.
