## Description

The Reindeer Herders’ Association of Finland, known in Finnish as Paliskuntain yhdistys, is an expert and advisory organization supporting the country’s reindeer husbandry sector. It brings reindeer herding cooperatives together and works to develop reindeer husbandry and the wider reindeer economy, promote research, and carry out other duties assigned to it by law or regulation.

The association provides information and practical resources for herders and the public. Its website features guidance on reindeer-related road accidents and what to do when a dead reindeer is found, as well as information about cooperatives, their representatives, maps, and reindeer markings. It also shares notices, sector updates, statistics, guides, and other publications, and offers training related to reindeer husbandry legislation. Visitors can explore reindeer recipes and the ProPoro online store, and access the Poromies magazine and video content. By connecting cooperatives, sharing expertise, and supporting research and communication, the association helps strengthen reindeer husbandry in Finland. The website provides information in Finnish and several Sámi languages, as well as English.
