Its mission is to foster amateur sports competition and support the development, advancement, and enjoyment of youth hockey. Working in partnership with USA Hockey and the Idaho Amateur Hockey Association, MHA aims to provide participants with a safe, enjoyable, and challenging hockey experience. The association offers three programs: traditional house hockey for players on 8U through 18U teams, Learn to Play, and Girls Development. Its introductory programs provide opportunities for newcomers to get started, including a girls learn-to-play and development option. MHA is based in Moscow, Idaho, and identifies Palouse Ice Rink as its home-ice resource. The organization states that it prohibits physical and sexual abuse of participants and does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or national origin.
