Description
PAL Stratford is a volunteer-driven charity that is committed to providing affordable housing and social assistance to Canada's professional performing arts community. Located in the vibrant and artistic city of Stratford, Ontario, PAL Stratford offers five suites in a beautiful heritage house for residents who are fifty-five years and older and have a connection to Canada's professional and performing arts communities. As a registered charity governed by an elected board of directors, PAL Stratford is one of eight PAL chapters across the country, collectively serving thousands of creative and passionate Canadians.
The organization was founded in October 1999 by Tom Patterson, the Stratford Festival Founder, and Herbert Whittaker, the Critic Emeritus for the Globe and Mail. Their vision was to create a place where aging theater and arts professionals could continue to live and thrive alongside their colleagues and friends. PAL Stratford is dedicated to making sure that Canada's great storytellers receive the support they need and deserve
